FULL DECISION | Judge denies Young Thug bon
Young Thug, real name Jeffrey Williams, was denied bond by a Fulton County judge.
Judge Ural Glanville issued the ruling Thursday evening, stating that he has serious concerns about Williams’s being a danger and his ability to escape prosecution.
Prosecutors allege in a grand indictment that charges Williams, rapper Gunna, and 26 others with racketeering that Williams co-founded a violent criminal gang that committed numerous murders, gun violence, and carjackings over a decade and advertised its actions in music and on social media.
He was arrested in Buckhead, an affluent suburb north of downtown Atlanta, last month. He was being held on suspicion of conspiracy to violate Georgia’s RICO Act and involvement in a criminal street gang.
The judge denied Williams’ bond citing accusations that he is the head honcho of a violent gang and other factors.
Prosecutors had earlier requested that William’s attorney recuse himself due to a conflict of interest.
The judge allowed the defense attorney to continue for the time being, but stated that he would reconsider the matter later.
