After a hidden video camera was discovered in a bathroom used by children at a Baptist church, a Florida man was arrested on felony video voyeurism charges.

According to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, 37-year-old David Patrick Nims was charged with one count of video voyeurism by a person 18 or older who is responsible for the welfare of a child younger than 16. This is a felony in the second degree.

An arrest report states that a 14-year-old discovered a webcam in the church’s men’s restroom on Sunday morning. He then notified church officials, who called the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.

According to the report, the camera was “connected to the drain pipe underneath the sink in the stall.” It was “facing the toilet on which he was sitting.”

Deputies examined the video clips saved on the camera and discovered one showed a man retrieving the equipment, recognized by observers as Nims.

According to the article, video recordings of “perhaps another public restroom somewhere else” were also discovered in the camera.

Nims is charged with one count of video voyeurism. He was released from jail on $10,000 bond on Tuesday night and is scheduled to appear in court on July 1.
