$1,000 Reward: Rented Tesla Going Airborne Goes Viral; Now Police Are Searching for The Hit & Run Driver

Los Angeles police are offering a $1,000 reward for information on the driver of a rented Tesla that attempted a disastrous stunt early Sunday in Echo Park but collided with 2 parked cars.

According to the LAPD, the incident occurred shortly after midnight close to Baxter and Alvarado streets.

“That was wild to watch. Too much too much way too much,” a witness, Sandy Hawkins, stated.

“A lot of stunts and tricks. YouTube is the source of it all,” Jordan Hooks, the owner of a Subaru that was one of the vehicles hit, expressed his discontent.

He believes the driver did it for the likes, followers, and a minute of Internet fame.

“With this there was no accountability we are just going to do this we are not going to talk to any of the neighbors damage a bunch of stuff and just take off,” Hooks said.

The driver fled the scene after the rented Tesla was abandoned.

Baxter Street is known as Los Angeles’ steepest hill, and it has attracted a lot of people looking for YouTube fame by doing stunts.

According to the station, there was no immediate description of the driver, who will most likely face hit-and-run charges.

Anyone with information on the driver should contact the Los Angeles Police Department at 213-833-3713 or 877-527-3247. Call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 if you have any information.
