A video uploaded on Sunday evening appears to show a section of an amusement park ride in India collapsing with dozens of people on board.
According to local network NDTV, the ride was a “drop tower” attraction that managed to break at a fair in Mohali, a municipality of the Indian state of Punjab. It failed around 9:15 p.m. on Sunday, according to the tv network.
The attraction included a tower and a spinning circular platform that elevated the tower. When it reached the top, it abruptly fell, slamming into the ride’s bottom.

According to Nikhil Choudhary, a journalist for Hindi-language broadcaster TV9, approximately 50 people were on board the 50-foot tall attraction, and half of them were injured. He guesstimated that 16 women and children were admitted to the hospital.
According to the Hindustan Times, numerous kids as young as 10 were being handled at Fortis Hospital, a medical center close to the fair.
NDTV and the Hindustan Times both disclosed that there were no emergency vehicles on standby at the fair. Choudhary stated that he saw no emergency vehicles at the moment of the accident, but that ambulance crews arrived a few minutes later.
