A man who was paralyzed from the neck down after a motorcycle accident was hit and killed in a Kroger parking area Wednesday night.

According to court papers, Taah’viya Chapman, 24, intentionally drove into two individuals outside the Kroger on Spring Grove Avenue. One of the two victims was Christopher Scott Griffith, 58. He died several hours later at UC Medical Center. Another man was hurt.

Chapman has been charged with murder, felonious assault on two counts, and endangering children. She will also be charged with interference with custody for an earlier, unrelated offense.

One of Griffith’s family members appeared at Chapman’s arraignment on Friday and asked that she be held without bond.

The judge, however, set her bond at $500,000 for the murder charge. She is also required to pay a $5,000 bond for each of the additional charges.
