15-Year-Old Boy Arrested & Charged in Deadly Shooting of 17-Year-Old Girl in Queens

In the fatal shooting of a teenage girl in Queens, a 15-year-old boy has been charged with manslaughter.

Shantasia O’Brian, 17, was shot in the back on 136th Avenue in Rosedale on Friday.

According to police, she was in a vehicle with 2 other people of that time. Both of these people are now persons of interest and are being held by police.

Cops arrested the suspected shooter, a 15-year-old boy, on Saturday and charged him with manslaughter, criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, and tampering with physical evidence. His name was not released because he is a minor, according to police.

Police were unable to determine whether the shooting was accidental or intentional.

According to police, EMS transported Shantasia to Jamaica Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
