According to police, two women were stabbed inside the Museum of Modern Art on Saturday afternoon.

According to authorities, the suspect entered the museum around 4:15 p.m. and stabbed 2 employees. According to police, the accused person was a member of the museum who had just gotten a letter rescinding his membership the day before. The guy wanted to see a movie and jumped the turnstile to get through security, WABC reported.

Both victims were transported to Bellevue Hospital, where they are in stable condition and are expected to survive.

Authorities believe they know who the suspect is because he is wanted in correlation with two previous Midtown incidents. He is said to have fled the museum following the attack.

He is described as a white man in his 60s wearing a black jacket and a blue surgical mask.

Inside the museum, visitors reported that the scene was chaotic during the incident.

Several videos posted on social media showed dozens of people fleeing the museum as authorities moved in to take control of the situation.

When the attack occurred on Saturday during a late-winter snowstorm, the museum was packed with visitors.
