21 Republican state attorneys general filed a suit against the Biden Administration on Tuesday in an effort to end the mask requirement on aircrafts and public transit, which they assert is useless and equates to federal misuse of power.

Airplanes, airports, and public transit are some of the last places in which masks are still considered necessary.

The requirement was due to end on March 18, but the Transportation Security Administration revealed earlier this month that it would be prolonged until April 18 predicated on a suggestion from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Among the defendants named in the lawsuit are CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, and Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra.

The state of Florida is the lead plaintiff, and Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) revealed the lawsuit at a press conference on Tuesday.

The lawsuit was filed in the Middle District of Florida of the United States District Court.
