21-Year-Old Man Charged After Allegedly Beating and Stabbing His Father to Death

On Wednesday night, Murfreesboro, Tennessee police apprehended a man accused of killing his father and trying to kill his mother inside a home.

DeJahn Tyson, 21, has been arrested for stabbing and pummeling his father to death and attempted to kill his mother inside their Colyn Avenue house.

Officers arrived at the home that evening and saw DeJahn standing over his father, 54-year-old Perry Tyson, with a something in his hand. Attempts to revive the father were unsuccessful. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The 55-year-old mother was taken to the hospital with many stab wounds and is classified as in stable condition, according to authorities. According to police, two other people in the residence at the time of the murder were not hurt.

DeJahn Tyson is being jailed in Rutherford County on a $1 million bond, with a hearing scheduled on April 28.

The incident is still being investigated. There was no more information made available.
