Authorities and a person close to the victim said Friday that police are looking for a man who viciously assaulted a 26-year-old pregnant woman in the Bronx last month with a metal wrench, repeatedly bashing her in the head with the weapon before fleeing the scene in a silver BMW.

The cause of the 5:30 p.m. Monday, June 6 attack outside a Fordham Heights clothes shop along a widely known Grand Concourse shopping area was not immediately clear, but the NYPD only released the video on Friday.

It shows a guy and woman battling on a street. He’s pushing while she retreats. The woman falls against a car out of the camera’s vision.

The man’s and her arms flail as the conflict continues. People surrounding them. The bad video quality makes it difficult to tell what is actually happening.

The man finally walks away. After the attack, the victim suffered a serious laceration to her head and was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.

The NYPD offered no immediate updates on her condition or the condition of her unborn baby on Friday.

It was also unclear how many months pregnant the woman was at the time of the June assault, or whether police thought she knew her attacker. Authorities have not revealed the identity of any potential suspects.

Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
