3-Month-Old Dies After Being Left in Locked Hot Car in D.C.

Authorities said a 3-month-old boy died after being left in a hot vehicle in Washington, D.C.

Officers responded to a residence briefly after 6 p.m. Tuesday and discovered the baby, Aaron Boyd Jr., unconscious and unresponsive, according to the Metropolitan Police Department. Aaron was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.

The heat index, or how hot it feels, reached 106 degrees in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday.

According to police, it was unclear how long Aaron had indeed been left in the black Honda Accord.

According to police, the investigation is still going on. Aaron’s cause and manner of death will be determined by an autopsy.
