Dawn Jankovic, of Ohio, was discovered unresponsive on June 4 at the Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari park in Santa Claus, Indiana, after riding the ‘The Voyage’ ride with her teenage son.

She died in hospital later from the internal bleeding, but it took officials more than a month to find out what caused Jankovic to expire so abruptly. according to Metro.

According to The Indianapolis Star, it wasn’t apparent how she died until Wednesday, when the Dubois County, Indiana coroner listed three reasons of death: severe internal blood loss, artery ripping, and force from the roller coaster.

The power of the ride produced an avulsion of the right internal thoracic artery, a significant arterial that runs vertically through the chest, according to Dubois County Coroner Katie Schuck.

Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari park closed The Voyage ride after the tragic occurrence “out of respect for the family.”

It was determined that her death was due to an accident.
