A California man has been charged with having enough fentanyl to kill 12 million people.

On Friday, Alfonso Gomez-Santana, 60, of Fullerton, was charged with felony sale or transport of a controlled substance and two felony counts of possession with intent to sell.

The Orange County District Attorney’s Office said in a statement that Santana was found with 4 kilos in his vehicle and 20 kilos in his residence, as well as $250,000 in fentanyl pills and 122 grams of methamphetamine.

The DA’s Office stated that a lethal dose of fentanyl can be as little as 2 milligrams.

The alleged drug dealer was apprehended by the California Highway Patrol on Wednesday near South Lemon Street and Orangethorpe Avenue and brought to the Theo Lacy Facility in Orange County.

Santana faces up to 6 years and 9 months in the Orange County Jail if convicted.
