According to officials, a California church youth leader was charged following an investigation into an improper interaction between himself and a 16-year-old.

According to the sheriff’s office, the arrest comes after authorities launched an investigation into the suspected improper relationship last month.

Marciano Cuellar, 61, was arrested and charged with sexual battery for his connection with a juvenile on Friday, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

Cuellar had frequent contact with youngsters as a youth leader, according to the sheriff’s department, and detectives suspect there may be other victims.

Cuellar was arrested and sent to the West Valley Detention Center. The bail amount was set at $50,000.
