A 75-year-old man was detained Friday afternoon for shooting and killing an 80-year-old woman in the parking lot of a Richardson grocery store.

Officers arrived to the Tom Thumb on the  Road in Richardson at noon after receiving 911 calls reporting a guy shooting into a pickup truck, according to the Richardson Police Department.

According to police, the suspect approached the parked truck before firing numerous times, striking Kathryn Elizabeth Kramer, 80. According to police, he then drove away from the store.

According to investigators, paramedics arrived to transport Kramer to the hospital, but she did not survive.

While no reason has been revealed, authorities have identified the culprit as 75-year-old Eddie Leon Williams of Garland, who had a “personal relationship” with Kramer.

Williams was apprehended around 9:30 p.m. Friday night, according to Richardson police. Williams has been charged with murder, according to police.

He is being jailed on a $250,000 bond after being charged with murder.
