The family of a man who died after officers tased him numerous times has filed a federal complaint against the Henry County Police Department and the City of Hampton Police.

Fernando Octavio Rodriguez, 24, was tased 15 times as police appeared to crack jokes while attempting to get him medical attention. Rodriguez, who was naked at the time of the confrontation and was walking down Oak Street in September 2019 when he was approached by police.

Previously Rodriguez was at the Imagine Fest music festival when someone called police to say that a man was wandering around naked.

This bodycam video showed that that officers were aware Rodriguez had stopped breathing, but they continued to pin him to the ground for several minutes, according to the lawsuit.
