Before being booted off a Southwest Airlines flight out of Dallas, Texas, a woman compared herself to Rosa Parks and Anne Frank for “taking a stand” and refusing to wear a mask.

An airline employee approached the passenger seated in the plane’s back row. The employee inquired if she was opposed to wearing a mask, to which she said that she was not.

When the employee asked why the woman wasn’t donning her mask, she said that she was “actively drinking and eating.” The employee informed the woman that she would be booted from the plane if she did not cooperate with putting on her mask.

“I would like you to tell me what the rules are,” the woman said. “If I’m actively eating or drinking then I can put down my mask, right? That’s what I was told on my last plane and I sat next to a pilot.”

The employee asked her to put on her mask again, but she began elevating her voice and asking the employee to just do what they had to do while still questioning why she’s being told to put on her mask.

After debating with the employee about wanting to “take a stand” and asking them to address it, the employee walked away.

The woman then began to smile as other travelers urged her to do what she was told so that the aircraft could take off.

The woman stated she had “no problem” putting on a mask, but the employee demanded she “get off no matter what.”

As other travelers continued to make remarks about the passenger’s actions, a flight attendant informed over the speaker that everyone would have to deplane.

“It probably didn’t make sense for Rosa either,” the woman said to another passenger. “It probably didn’t make sense for Anne Frank either. We have to take a stand.”

One passenger responded quickly, labeling her a “racist” for tying herself to American civil rights activist Rosa Parks.
