Authorities say a Michigan man stabbed his wife to death with scissors and faces murder and torture charges.
According to a news statement from the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office, William Scott Grant, 49, killed Sarah Grant, 45, on May 3 at their Westland, Michigan, residence, PEOPLE reported.
Law enforcement officers responding to a possible homicide complaint discovered Sarah’s body in the garage, riddled with many lacerations, according to the release. She was declared deceased at the scene.
William allegedly ran, but officers apprehended him the next day.
She leaves behind two daughters, according to a GoFundMe effort that has generated more than $40,000 for the victim’s funeral expenses.
In honor of Mother’s Day, loving ones paid tribute to Sarah on social media days after her death.
“Happy Mother’s Day, Sarah. Praying so hard for your beautiful girls today!!” one person wrote. “Happy Mother’s Day in heaven, my beautiful friend,” another post said.
According to court documents, William is charged with first-degree premeditated murder, felony murder, and torture. A judge denied him bond.
