A rapper who raps about looting ATMs was arrested for doing so. Ladesion Riley, 30, was one of four people detained on Monday in Tennessee.
According to the Nashville Police Department, the four planned to rob an ATM operator while he was servicing a Bank of America machine.
Darius Dugas, 27, Sashondre Dugas, 32, and Christopher Alton, 27, were also detained in Houston, Texas. The four were picked up shortly after checking out of a motel.
According to police, two of them accosted the victim from behind, telling him not to do something dumb and to hand over the cash.
Detectives discovered that one of the getaway cars, a Hyundai Elantra, had been acquired from Hertz.
Using information given by Hertz, investigators located the Hyundai and a maroon Jeep that joined it parked at the Motel 6 in Dickson with the assistance of aviation units.
Detectives stood by as cash seemed to be placed into the Jeep. Dickson Police, assisted by the Nashville Police Department and the FBI, moved in when the Dugas couple and Riley drove away from the motel in the Jeep and Alton drove away in the Hyundai.
The vehicles were stopped, and the four people were taken into jail without incident. The cash discovered in the trunk was photographed by police.
After his arrest, the Houston Police Officers’ Union criticized him on Facebook, writing, “IRONY: When you produce a rap song called “Make It Home,” about bank jugging and hitting atm’s out of state, and then don’t make it home to Houston.”
