A California man who has worked as a youth basketball coach for many years has been arrested and accused of sexually abusing one of his players.
Officers from the Riverside Police Department’s Sexual Assault – Child Abuse Unit apprehended Jamien Nicholas Lovell Jackson, 41, on Thursday.
Jackson is accused of sexually abusing a female juvenile while coaching the girl’s travel basketball team in 2021.
According to the Riverside Police Department, authorities started looking into Jackson’s abuse allegations in March.
He was booked into Riverside’s Robert Presley Detention Center and released after posting $55,000 bail.
He is scheduled to appear in court later this month to face charges of lewd and lascivious acts on a minor, child annoyance, and sending harmful matter to a minor.
Jackson has spent many years working with girls’ basketball teams and sports photography businesses all through the Inland Empire, according to the Police Department.
