New Orleans Rapper Mystikal Arrested Again for Rape

Mystikal, a New Orleans rapper whose been accused of rape twice in the last 2 decades, was arrested and booked into the Ascension Parish Jail on his 3rd count of alleged sex crimes.

According to arrest records obtained by WBRZ, Michael Tyler, 52, popularly known as Mystikal, was arrested and booked on the several charges, such as false imprisonment and first-degree rape, on Sunday.

Mystikal was previously accused of sexual assaulting his hairstylist in 2004, according to news sources. Following his arrest, he spent six years in prison and was registered as a sexual offender upon his release.

He was arrested again in 2017, when he surrendered to police after gaining knowledge that he was wanted for an assault that allegedly occurred in a Shreveport casino. The 2017 charges were subsequently dropped, and Mystikal had been released on a $3 million bond.

As of Monday morning, no bond had been set for the rapper’s latest arrest. First-degree rape, simple robbery, domestic abuse battery, false imprisonment, and simple criminal damage to property are among the charges he faces.
