The Tulare Police Department released a video of a car smashing into a patrol car parked behind its headquarters, Bakersfield Now reported.

According to reports, a police sergeant was seated in his patrol car, which was parked against the building’s back wall around 8pm Sunday.

He was about to pull out of the driveway when a car travelling westbound and made a sudden turn into the driveway and collided with the police vehicle.

According to the sergeant, he heard the vehicle speed up just before it started turning towards him, so he assumed the driver did this intentionally.

Adam Hernandez, got out of the car, back in, and then out again (he’s obviously high as a kite at this point). The officer pulled his pistol and told them both to get on the ground.

The female passenger got on the ground but “high” Hernandez couldn’t figure out which way was down.

According to police, Hernandez told them he had a dead body in the trunk of his car, which turned out to be false.

Hernandez eventually confessed that he intentionally collided into the police vehicle and that he had recently used methamphetamine.

He is currently detoxing in Tulare County Jail on charges of assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer.
