In Detroit, a woman is recovering after being stabbed in the chest by her mother.
Ashley Williams stated that she would be celebrating her 34th birthday on May 31. At the end of the evening, she was at her mother ‘s residence on the city’s west side when her mother snapped and assaulted her with a kitchen knife, according to FOX2.
“She stabbed me right in my heart. The only thing I could do, I was in shock,” she said. “Only thing I really recall is her coming at me like with the knife, like I didn’t even see my mom — I saw a demon, a real demon. She had veins in her head her eyes were popping out.”
Williams expressed concern for her mother, who suffers from alcohol addiction. She had picked up her mother from a car accident the day of the stabbing, she said.
According to Detroit police, charges are being sought against Williams’ mother, and the incident has been referred to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office.
Meanwhile, Williams is trying to recover but requires assistance. She’s had two open-heart surgeries with complications.
She has set up a GoFundMe account to help pay her medical bills.
“I would greatly appreciate it. I really don’t like asking people for help. I’ve been independent; I like doing stuff on my own. That’s why it was so hard for me to share this story,” she said.
