The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a shooting at Manny’s Glo Afterdark Hookah Lounge early Saturday morning that left one man dead and 13 others injured.
Captain Dori Koren stated during a briefing that police officers responded at 3:15 a.m. to numerous reports of a shooting at the lounge on the 900 block of East Sahara.
When police arrived, they found a large number of victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers immediately administered tourniquets and cardiopulmonary resuscitation to the victims, while others were transported to area hospitals.
Police say the investigation is in its early stages but said there was a party of people at the lounge when a fight broke out between two people and gunfire was exchanged. The suspects fled the scene, and there is an active search for them.
Police were unable to provide a description of the accused persons and are unsure whether there were 1 or 2 two shooters.
According to police, this was an isolated event, and there is currently no danger to the public. Two of the 13 victims are currently in critical condition.
Saturday night, the part of the business plaza where the shooting occurred stayed closed as police conducted their investigation.
