On Chicago’s South Side, a security guard for WGN-TV was gunned down Monday afternoon while seated in her vehicle.

The shooting took place in the South Shore neighborhood’s 6700 block of South Jeffery Boulevard, according to FOX32.

According to the television station, Salena Claybourne, 35, pulled over for gas shortly after leaving work. While she sat in her vehicle, a black sedan approached and the unidentified occupants started firing at her.

According to police, she was shot in her left shoulder and face. She was taken to a nearby hospital and later pronounced dead.

At least two ‘persons of interest’ were being interrogated Tuesday afternoon, a police spokeswoman said. There have been no charges filed.

According to the station, Claybourne, a mother of 2 daughters, worked for Allied Universal Security and was assigned to the WGN-TV Studios.

“WGN is deeply saddened by the loss of one of our own. Our sincerest condolences go out to her family and friends,” the station said.
