On the eve of a second trial pitting the Kardashians against former reality TV star Blac Chyna, a settlement agreement has been reached.
Jury selection was slated to start Monday in the trial over Chyna’s accusations that her former fiancé Rob Kardashian vindictively published naked pics of her in 2017 after their turbulent failed relationship, but the parties notified the judge that they had come to an agreement to settle, according to court documents.
A trial appeared to be a foregone conclusion after a judge last week rejected a motion by Kardashian’s lawyers to impose a settlement agreement they asserted the two parties had managed to reach.
The trial was supposed to be a sort of follow-up to a defamation trial earlier this year, in which Chyna, whose legal name is Angela White, claimed that Kardashian’s mother and sisters — Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian, Khloé Kardashian, and Kylie Jenner — slandered her as violent and erratic, convincing creators and top execs to cancel her reality show, “Rob & Chyna.”
On May 2, the Kardashians managed to win a resounding victory in that trial. The four women had attended the majority of the court hearings and had all testified, despite the fact that they were in New York for the Met Gala when the verdict was announced.
