According to the Houston Police Department, two ladies were tragically murdered Sunday morning.

HPD arrived at home on East Tri Oak Lane at 9am in response to a reported assault in progress at the residence.

When police arrived, they noticed a woman (the mother) get out of a car and walk directly to a door. Soon as she knocked on the the door, the man opened it and shot her on the spot.

Police immediately told the suspect to drop his weapon. The suspect started firing at the police and they returned fire, hitting the man multiple times.

He ran back into the home and barricaded himself in. Eventually SWAT arrived and detained the man after he decided to exit the home willingly.

SWAT entered the home and located a deceased female, the suspect’s girlfriend. At this moment in the investigation, authorities don’t know who was shot first, the mother or the girlfriend.
