Brianna Hamblin, a Spectrum News 1 correspondent in New York, took to social media to condemn the hostility she faced while attempting to perform her work, calling it “disgusting.”

In a video shared on Social media, Hamblin can be seen looking at her phone before broadcasting live on air, with male voices heard in the background swearing.

As he walks by, a man remarks to Hamblin, “you look nice by the way,” to which she replies, “thank you,” before returning her gaze to her phone.

However, the second man remarks, “you’re beautiful as hell, goddamn,” to which Hamblin respectfully responds, “thank you.”

The second man, instead of stepping away, proceeds to converse with Hamblin, wondering why she is posing in front of a cameraman.

To find out, she advises him to “go find a TV and watch Spectrum News.”

However, the discussion quickly escalates, and the man replies, “See, that’s why I can’t be alone with a Black woman.” Because I despise these f white girls.”

Hamblin posted the video to Twitter, denouncing the harassment that women in the media face on a regular basis. For his statements, Hamblin also labeled the second man “racist.”
