Prosecutors charged the nurse who reportedly triggered the blazing Los Angeles car accident that killed 6 people, including a pregnant woman and her unborn child, with murder on Monday.

Nicole Lorraine Linton, 37, was charged with six counts of murder and five counts of vehicular manslaughter, according to LA County District Attorney George Gascón, who called the crash “a terrible tragedy.”

Linton, a nurse at Kaiser Permanente’s West LA Medical Center, is accused of exceeding 100 mph in a 35 mph zone shortly before running a red light Thursday afternoon.

Her Mercedes collided with at least 5 other vehicles, igniting at least three of them.

According to Fox 11 Los Angeles, tears could be seen going down Linton’s face during her first appearance in court on Monday.
