Governor Gavin Newsom announced a $116.5 million effort to promote Californians to obtain their COVID-19 immunization, making it the country’s largest vaccine reward initiative.

Newsom made the statement on Thursday as the state pushes up attempts to vaccinate as many people as possible well before targeted reopen date of June 15.

On that day, a selection will be held to deliver the top reward to ten people who have been vaccinated.

Another 30 individuals will be chosen at random on June 4 and 11 to receive $50,000 apiece. According to the authorities, approximately 12 million Californians aged 12 and up have still not been vaccinated.
