A barber in a Chicago suburb has been charged with murder after reportedly shooting and killing a client who decided to not pay for his haircut.

The fatal event occurred last Thursday at the Studio 914 barbershop at  in the Chicago neighborhood of Maywood.

Deshon Mcadory, the business’s owner, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with the murder of Christian McDougald, 31.

Mcadory’s barbershop charges about $15 for a cut, so it’s unknown why he and McDougald fought about McDougald’s paying for the cut.

Mcadory’s business partner, 43-year-old Samuel Williams, was also detained on a charge of unauthorized use of a firearm by a felon for having several weapons in his possession, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

McDougald refused to pay for a cut and got into an argument with Mcadory and other barbers, according to Cook County Assistant State’s Attorney Kevin Meehan.

Men’s haircuts at the barbershop cost between $15 and $25, according to the establishment’s Social media page.

As the argument heated up, McDougald reportedly followed Mcadory to the barbershop’s rear entrance, where the barber fired and hit the enraged client twice in the chest, killing him, according to the prosecutors office.

McDougald was transported to Loyola University Medical Center and declared dead. Further information about that argument has not been provided.
