Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot is facing a lawsuit after a reporter claims his request for an interview was denied just because he is white, according to TMZ.

A reporter for the news outlet The Daily Caller, Thomas Catenacci, is suing the Mayor over her new interview policy, where she’ll only have one on one interviews with ‘people of color.’

Catenacci says he put in a request for a interview to be held on May 20th but never received word back from Lightfoot’s office. He says, Lightfoot has had 1 interview with a self-identified Latino reporter, but he hasn’t heard anything in response to his request.

Catenacci says Lightfoot’s policy is discriminatory and a violation of his rights under the Equal Protection under the law. He is asking a judge to cancel the new policy.
