According to authorities, a guy who was apparently ambushed after being discharged from the Cook County Jail in Chicago received up to 64 gunshot wounds to his head and other areas of his body.

The shooting of 31-year-old man named Londre Sylvester, who is also known as a rapper in Chicago, was slain Saturday night, according to a police complaint. He was declared deceased at a hospital.

Sylvester had just been freed from lock up after being fitted with electronic monitoring and was going to a waiting vehicle when multiple suspects “exited two separate vehicles and all proceeded to shoot in Sylvester’s direction, striking him multiple times,” according to the police report.

The 60-year-old woman, that posted his bond, was also hit by a bullet in the knee and sent to Stroger Hospital, where she was listed in good condition, according to FOX5.

Sylvester was arrested in April for failing to appear for a bond hearing in connection with a felony firearms charge. He was scheduled to appear in court again on July 27, 2021.
