All public pools in Atlanta have been closed until further notice, according to the city.

It could be linked to an incident that occurred at the Anderson Park Pool on Saturday, according to police. According to Atlanta police, a 17-year-old boy was murdered after an altercation with a man turned into gunfire. According to WSBTV, the shooter’s and victim’s identities have not been revealed.

“The Department of Parks and Recreation is completing an operational assessment of all City of Atlanta outdoor pools at this time. Out of an abundance of caution for our residents and staff, it remains necessary to keep the pools closed until further notice,” the mayor’s office said in a statement. “These closures are for the outdoor pools managed by the City of Atlanta and does not affect indoor natatoriums or splashpads.”

The city stated earlier this year that all public swimming pools would be free to use throughout the summer. On May 29, the pools opened to a limited capacity.
