Last Wednesday, a Texas lady was charged with throwing his boyfriend’s mother’s ashes into a lake.

Ernest Smith, 38, reportedly called Fort Worth police on May 2 after discovering his mother’s urn was gone. According to KXAS, Smith also said he overheard his girlfriend, Augustine Gladney, 40, and her daughter, who was at home at the time, having a chat.

Gladney allegedly mentioned dumping the urn into Lake Worth during that phone discussion, according to Smith. According to KXAS, Smith made contact with Gladney, who admitted to putting his cremated ashes in the lake in a text message.

Gladney was charged with abusing a corpse on Wednesday. It’s unknown if she’s still being held.
