On Monday, federal officials and members of the New York City Police Department will announce charges against two suspects linked to the unsolved murder of Jam Master Jay. Law enforcement sources identified the suspects as Ronald Washington and Karl Jordan; the former already in prison and the latter arrested by ATF and the NYPD on Sunday.
Jam Master Jay was a one-man band for Run-DMC — a DJ with scratches and beats that kept the party going while Rev. Run and DMC unloaded lyrics. Yet the pioneering rapper was met with the same fate as the great ones after him, like Tupac Shakur and the Notorious B.I.G.

Jason Mizell, also known as “Jam Master Jay” from the legendary rap group Run-D.M.C., was gunned down execution-style on Oct. 30, 2002.
