Ysleta Border Patrol checkpoint agents in El Paso discovered migrants locked in metal toolboxes on Thursday, according to El Paso Border Patrol Chief Gloria Chavez.

Chavez stated in a video she posted to Twitter that the migrants were being smuggled and were hiding in toolboxes in extreme heat.

The video appeared to show two migrants in a blue toolbox, and another in a silver box.

The footage shows toolboxes in the back of a New Mexico-licensed black Chevrolet Silverado carrying toolboxes.

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) of the United States identified the migrants as three male Hondurans.

The migrants were evaluated medically and found to be in good health, according to a CBP news release.

The migrants were located around 10:10 a.m. during a subsequent immigration check after a K-9 led Border Patrol Agents to the back of the truck.

CBP says the driver, a U.S. citizen, told officials he had marijuana and a firearm.

The driver said he didn’t have the keys to two toolboxes when questioned by agents.

The driver was arrested and the migrants were discovered in the toolboxes. CBP will charge the driver with conspiracy to transport.
