Dallas Police Officer Arrested on Two Capital Murder Charges

In separate incidents dating back to 2017, a Dallas police officer is accused of killing two people.

Officer Bryan Riser has been a member of the Dallas Police Department’s South Central Patrol since 2008.

He was arrested and charged with two counts of capital murder on Thursday morning.

According to the sheriff, Riser was involved in both murders after police obtained details from a witness.

On March 10, 2017, the first occurred. Lisa Saenz, 31, was found dead in the 200 block of Santa Fe Trail, near the Trinity River, with multiple gunshot wounds.

Saenz was kidnapped, then shot and killed at the location, according to police.

Three men were arrested and charged with capital murder in the death of Saenz. Their charges are yet to be filed.

One of the three, according to court records, is the witness who informed investigators about Riser’s involvement on August 14, 2019.

According to the police, a witness informed them Riser first contacted him about a drug-house robbery plot based on details Riser provided.
