Remains were discovered Friday in the search for a Houston father who has been missing since January, according to Houston police.

The remains were discovered in a wooded area off T.C. Jester Boulevard in the 5100 block. Although autopsy results are pending, Houston police believe the remains are those of Daniel Brown, 35.

Daniel has been missing since the 25th of January. Alma Brown, his mother, is hopeful that the remains are those of her son.

Well, I’m hoping the body they found is Daniel,” Alma expressed her hope. “He hasn’t been positively ID’d yet but hopefully real soon it is and then at least I could see my son.”

Trevyon Tellis, 27, was arrested and charged with Daniel’s murder. Daniel was allegedly killed in Tellis’ home the night he went missing, according to authorities.

Tellis is said to have admitted to the murder.

Alma stated that she suspected Tellis of being the perpetrator from the beginning.

“I took him to the police station on the 27th when I filed the missing person’s report and they went that night and searched his house and nothing came of that. He just walked away,” Brown asserted.

Tellis did not act alone, Alma believes. She went to the location where the remains were discovered and stated that Tellis could not have taken Brown there by himself.

However, Tellis is the only person charged with Daniel’s murder. He has already appeared in court and been issued a $200,000 bond.
