26-Year-old Woman’s Body Found in Trunk of Parked Car in NY

According to police, the body of a 26-year-old woman who had been missing for more than four months was found in the trunk of an abandoned vehicle in Queens on Wednesday, as per The Post.

According to authorities, the gruesome discovery was made after Department of Sanitation employee opened the trunk of a dark sedan with no tags that they were towing from 160-47 Lefferts Boulevard in Ozone Park just before 10 a.m.

Police sources say that the body is Destini Smothers, a Troy woman who went missing on Nov. 3.

The mother of two young children had been seen late that night, leaving Bowlero bowling alley in Woodside, where she went to a birthday party with her boyfriend, as per a missing person’s file.

Her remains were discovered 127 days later and 15 miles away in the south of Queens.
Images from the horrible scene show her body in a dark Toyota hybrid trunk.

Police set up a crime scene after the body was identified and transferred to the City Medical Examiner’s Office to assess the cause of death.

Law enforcement officials said they had no suspects and the investigation was ongoing.
