Police in New Jersey are searching for information about five people who abducted and attacked a waitress after she tracked them down for failing to pay a $70 tab.

Around 11:15 p.m., the waitress, a 20-year-old Nifty Fifty’s diner employee, raced out chasing the party of people, according to Washington Township Police.

The waitress attempted to stop the party of people from leaving, but the group instead snatched her into a white Dodge Durango and sped away.

“They pulled her into the vehicle and assaulted her inside the vehicle,” Washington Township Police Chief Patrick Gurcsik told WPVI.

The waitress, who has not been identified, dashed back to the restaurant and contacted 911. She had bruising and may have suffered a concussion.

Police have advised restaurant staff to write license plate number number’s of any clients who try to dine and flee rather than confronting them.
