A man was discovered disemboweled in his New York City apartment, and police believe a drunken altercation led to the brutal murder.

On Tuesday evening, a body was discovered on the 4th floor of a building in Corona, Queens, belonging to 35-year-old Jose Gonzalez.

After going to Gonzalez’s apartment to collect rent, a landlord who was also a neighbor discovered his body.

The authorities believe that he was murdered by his new roommate, with whom he shared the space.

Neighbors reported to police that the duo drank together.

The NYPD described how Gonzalez was stabbed so deeply in the neck, shoulder, arms, and stomach that his intestines were found protruding from his body. Additionally, his face and abdomen were covered in blood stains.

Gonzalez was last seen on Sunday at 3 p.m. One neighbor described seeing a ‘red liquid’ leaking from behind Gonzalez’s door, but mistaking it for a spilled beverage.

A day later, the mess was mopped up, most likely by his murderer, who still resided in the residence.

‘He was already dead when they found him in his room. I know nothing about the Colombian,’ Erica Sumba, the 22-year-old niece of Gonzalez, told the Daily News.

No arrests have been made as of yet, but police want to speak with Gonzalez’s roommate.
