According to police, a 27-year-old man who says he is a homeless model is facing criminal charges for masturbating in public at a Starbucks.
According to records Blake Reign was arrested on Friday in Miami Beach and was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on Sunday.
Alyssa DiMaria told Local10 she was at Starbucks when she recorded him saying, “What are you [expletive] doing? Get the [expletive] out! It’s disgusting!”
DiMaria stated that he did it for about ten minutes. Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Collins Avenue and 29th Street after witnesses in the Starbucks’ indoor and outdoor areas reported Reign’s behavior. A foot chase ensued.
The arrest was videotaped by a witness. “Sit the [expletive] down!” yells an officer. Reign, however, did not. The sound of the officers’ dart-firing stun guns was also captured on video. According to the arrest report, they shot Reign eight times, used “closed fist distraction blows,” and kicked him in the lower back area.
Reign was taken to Mount Sinai Medical Center by firefighters. Reign told the judge in bond court that he works in Miami Beach. Reign is accused of lewd and lascivious behavior, disorderly conduct in a public place, and nonviolently resisting an officer. His bond was set at $700 by a judge.
Starbucks issued a statement:
Once alerted to the customer’s behavior our partners took action and local authorities were immediately called. We want our stores to be a welcoming environment. and our partners are empowered to address any behavior that doesn’t meet our third place policy.
