During a welfare check at a house in the Houston area Thursday night, deputies discovered four young children alone, and the parents are facing charges.
The two boys and two girls ranged in age from one year to four years.
According to police, teenagers discovered the three oldest in the street, one of whom was naked. They informed their parents, who then called the police.
According to authorities, the children could have been alone for up to two days.
The 4-year-old informed them that they believed their mother had died.
The house was unkempt and in shambles, according to authorities, and the youngest child may have fallen out of a crib and was on the floor.
Angela Huff, 28, was charged with four counts of abandonment of a child. According to the Harris County District Clerk’s Office, she posted a $40,000 bond on Saturday morning, $10,000 for each count.
Markel Dorsey, 31, appeared before a judge on Saturday morning and was granted a $2,500 bond for evading arrest and a $25,000 bond for violating a protected order.
Dorsey was violating his bond on Friday, according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, after court records revealed multiple assault charges for allegedly choking Huff inside hotels.
