A father is facing murder charges after allegedly confessing to cops that he whipped his son to death over a television show the boy was watching.

Gerald Oglesby, 33, has been charged with murder in the death of his five-year-old son, General Sema’j Oglesby.

According to reports, the child was discovered dead at approximately 1:30 a.m. on March 16.

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Gerald admitted to police that he beat the child, claiming he repeatedly beat the five-year-old with an electrical cord. Then he delivered a fatal blow to General’s stomach.

Gerald reportedly caused the boy’s chin to split open and bleed during the initial whippings.

According to the police report, the man then showered General before proceeding to beat him with the electrical cord. He then punched the boy in the abdomen with a slipper over his hand.

“Gerald explained as soon as he struck (the child) in the abdomen, he knew he struck him too hard,” police wrote in the arrest report.

Report: Father waited 13 minutes to call 911 after 5-year-old son stopped breathing

The boy, who was experiencing difficulty walking at the time, then puked on the couch. His breathing eventually came to a halt.

Gerald tried performing chest compressions but failing to call 911. He said General hadn’t taken a breath in 13 minutes while on the phone with 911.

“Gerald did not call the paramedics or anyone else to see if he could get some help,” according to the report. He instead went beside the boy, “rubbing his body for comfort.”

“Gerald stated he did not want to lose custody of (his son) and so he chose not to call to get help,” cops wrote.

Meanwhile, he sent text messages to Charlveena Veecee, the boy’s mother, and his sister. While the man reportedly revealed to his sister that he beat General too hard, the mother received pictures of the boy that had been on Gerald’s phone.

According to the arrest report, he then smoked a bit of weed before dialing 911.

When he was instructed by emergency dispatchers to perform CPR on his son, Gerald allegedly refused, the report states.

Gerald faces one count of murder and has been jailed in Henderson, according to reports.
