Shootings Break Out At DMX Vigil; 2 People Shot (Image: Screenshot/YouTube)
Two shootings occurred Wednesday night at a Mount Vernon vigil honoring the late rapper DMX , which drew a large crowd.
About a thousand people gathered around 7 p.m. in Fourth Street Park, between Seventh and Eighth Avenues, to pay their respects to DMX , who was born in Mount Vernon and died on April 9.
Around 8:45 p.m., the vigil was over. A half-hour later, shots were fired near Fourth Street and Fifth Avenue, injuring one person in the foot. Just before ten o’clock, there was a second shooting near the park.
