Dr. Dre’s estranged wife, Nicole Young, contends in intense court documents that she co-owns the trademark to his name.
In her lawsuit, Young, 50, alleges that Dr. Dre, 55, (born Andre Young) ‘secretly’ transferred ‘valuable trademarks’ to a holding company with ‘newly created assets,’ including his 1992 debut album, The Chronic.
Young’s team reported that the transfer of Dre’s property, which ‘he owned with’ his two children’s mother, took place without her ‘knowledge or consent.’
The latest suit details that during Andre’s marriage to Nicole, the ‘valuable trademarks’ were filed, which coincided with Andre’s years of increasing success in the music industry.’
Meanwhile, sources close to Dre say the accusations are ‘ridiculous’ and, according to TMZ, an’ effort to shame him into submission.
The outlet revealed that she claims to be the ‘victim of physical , emotional and financial abuse’ during her marriage, in addition to accusing him of hiding money.
Young filed for divorce from Dre earlier this summer after 24 years of marriage.
