Cocaine hidden in banana crates was delivered to Czech supermarkets before being intercepted in Germany. When supermarket workers discovered powder-filled packages in banana crates, cops seized the entire haul.

Czech police footage shows an officer and sniffer dog inspecting Colombian bananas.

The 1,851-pound blocks of pressed cocaine with a street value of $83 million passed through Hamburg, Europe’s second-largest port after Rotterdam, before arriving in the Czech Republic.

Supermarket workers in Prague, Jicin, and Rychnov nad Knnou found suspicious white powder blocks and alerted authorities, who dispatched canine units to investigate.

Czech police found cocaine cubes in banana boxes, they said Friday. “Criminal investigators found the same batch of goods in several other Czech locations,” they said.

The Czech police want to work with international authorities to further their investigation. “Information about shipments is kept outside the Czech Republic, so we’ll use the institute of international police and judicial cooperation.

“The case was taken over by the National Drug Control Center, which will conduct the investigation. We will provide more information as soon as possible.”

The investigation into drugs hidden in banana crates continues.
