Phil Tewkesly discovered four dead snakes, as well as dead fish, bugs, scorpions, and a tarantula.

Phil asserts that the renters, a couple and their teen daughter, have used the Covid pandemic as a “excuse” to deny him entry to investigate the property for the last 2 years.

And when he finally gained access to the home in Kendal, Cumbria, the 47-year-old described it as “a rubbish dump with a roof on it.”

Video of the trash-strewn property reveal mountains of trash, clothing cups, old bottles, letters, and newspapers, among other items.

He claimed he fought the occupants for months, one of whom claimed to be an animal rescuer and boasted about how well he looked after the animals.

He previously “rescued” a boa constrictor and stated that it would be “well cared for” – but it is understood that this is the same snake that was discovered abandoned in the disgusting residence.

Phil immediately contacted the RSPCA, who retrieved the live snake on New Year’s Eve.

Following the discovery of another live snake, two dead snakes, and other exotic animals – including fish, scorpions, and a tarantula – the RSPCA officers contacted the police, who dispatched an officer to observe the animals’ recovery.

After they were taken away, the tenant’s locks were changed and he was given one month to remove the remainder of his possessions before the clean up could start.

According to an RSPCA spokesperson, the snakes have been rehomed and an investigation into the neglect is ongoing.
