Extreme Road Rage: Video Shows 2 Men Fighting In The Middle of Freeway

Traffic was brought to a halt on Interstate 5 after a road rage incident. There was a ‘exchanging of hands’ in the southbound lanes of the highway near Front Street on March 8 at around 4 p.m, according to CBS8.

A cell phone video taken by a witness shows two men fighting in one of the lanes. It’s not clear what actually caused the incident.

As he repeatedly punches and kicks the other man on the ground, one man can be heard yelling racial epithets. There was more to the story, however, after they both returned to their cars.

Witness Arturo Gonzalez said, “Everyone was in shock wondering what was going on.”

While fighting so close to Gonzalez’s vehicle, a man falls into it.

According to Gonzalez, the man returned to his trunk, went inside his trunk, and pulled out a hammer.

Gonzalez asserts that the other driver had already sped away by that point. The California Highway Patrol arrived soon after that.

For this reason, the CHP does not keep a database dedicated to incidents of road rage, but his office has noticed an increase in these reports.

Nationally, thezebra.com, an insurance comparison site, reported a 500 percent increase in reported road rage cases over the previous ten years.

More than half of all fatal car accidents involve aggressive driving, also known as road rage.
